Department of Physics, The Women University Multan was established in 2013. The physics department embraces the University’s priority to build the Institute of Physics, high visibility institution. Over the next decade, this goal can be accomplished by creating a balanced research portfolio containing fundamental and application-oriented programs that will attract the attention of top faculty and top students.
A top-rated physics department is a prerequisite to a world-class Institute of Physics. Over the next ten years, we plan to greatly increase the visibility and leadership of the department in five broad fields where the department already is well positioned to

The BS, M.Phil. and PhD Physics programs aims top graduates and post graduates empowered with knowledge who are capable of independent thinking and are able to apply physical knowledge to real world problems The foremost vision of the department is to augment the quality of education & research in the subject of Physics. The purpose of this is to produce the well-trained researchers and graduates that can have the great contribution in their country and can serve well in the field of Physical research.

Mission

The mission of WUM is to create as an extensive, research-drove college with an emphasis on Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The statement of purpose of WUM workforce of institute of Physics is to deliver worldwide quality HR Pure Physics; Computational Physics; Biomedical physics; Material Science; Condensed matter physics just as lead global quality exploration in these fields. The crucial Institute of Physics office is to advance a culture of examination and produce quality human asset in the field of Physics. The crucial PhD. Program is to deliver the potential PhD understudies with a wide base that will empower to lead advantageous examination in some standard zone.

The mission of Department of Physics, The Women University is to provide an environment where students can learn and become competent users of physics and Physical application. Moreover, the department will contribute to development of students as physical thinkers by arranging Workshops, Seminars and Conferences in fields of physics to enable them to become lifelong learners, to continue to grow in their chosen professions, and to function as productive citizens as well as good physicists.

Objectives

The aim of the program is:

To produce graduates who have a sound knowledge of the major areas of physical methodology, founded on rigorous theoretical principles which equip the graduate to acquire further knowledge and skills for the benefit of the country through own study.
To promote the use and knowledge of physics in all fields in which Physics can contribute to a better understanding of scientific and social phenomena, and enhance the quality of decisions and conclusions made on the strength of theoretical approach.

A Bachelor of Science degree in physics provides a strong foundational core for students who wish.

To pursue graduate studies in pure or applied physics. To pursue a career in applied physics (for example Operations Research and actuarial mathematics) immediately after obtaining a BS.
To teach physics in the Middle and High school.

Research is an integral part of the PhD program. So we provide a dedicated research room with necessary computing facilities and seating arrangements for PhD research students encourage and facilitate students by arranging financial assistance. Different research collaborations are established to promote research activities. Many optional subjects are offered so that the students can choose research field of their interest.

As the Head of department, my basic Mission is to run the department with regularity, punctuality and in disciplined manner. We will try to maintain the existing pass percentage in the courses offered by us and will focus on getting research projects. I would like to provide excellent environment for all-round development of the students.
