Overview

Department of Botany, The Women University Multan, is one of the leading departments regarding academic and research activities. Ph.D is the highest degree program initiated in 2020 along with M.Phil (2015 to onward) and BS (2010 to onward). At present, number of Ph.D scholars are 6. Scholars are actively involved in research activities. The Department is incessantly following HEC’s recommendations for impost and updation of its activities. Backbreaking exploration activities are in progress under research project funded by projecting donor establishments including University itself.

To achieve excellence in dissemination, creation of knowledge and innovations in the botanical sciences to address modern day challenges for the benefit of society and environment.

Mission

To inculcate concept-based knowledge in the minds of its graduates by delivering various subjects of plant sciences with the problem-solving approach through research thereby creating new knowledge pertaining to latest issues of plant sciences. Build up the department on modern lines for education and research at BS, M.Phil and Ph.D. level.

Impart practical knowledge and scientific skills in the concerned subject by employing advanced analytical approaches.
Broaden the vision of students.
Planning for current and future researchable issues along with attachment to the latest teaching & research methods.

Objectives

Department was strengthened by planning the time needed education and research for M. Phil and Ph. D students.
Phil and Ph.D. scholars were imparted practical knowledge using advanced analytical techniques.
Integration was achieved through interviews, discussion on latest developments in the field and translation in applied research projects/thesis research.
Updating of curricula was done to achieve the objective of anticipation of new teaching/researchable areas.
