Summary

Dr. Humaira earned her PhD in the subject Microbiology and Molecular Genetics. She investigated the role of selected mutations known to cause thalassemia in the subjects of Pakistani ethnicity. Since her appointment in 2013 as Lecturer at MMG-WUM, her research interest concentrates on study of thalassemia, Human diseases, Medicinal Plants, Antibiotic resistance, Food-borne pathogens, mechanism of their transfer and loopholes in their spread. In studying these areas, she has developed and employed a range of methodologies, from basic isolation of microorganisms to studies at genomic level.
