Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Uzma Quraishi inaugurated Dar-ul Quran Centre, Water filtration plant, Old Hall, Entrance gate and Parking shed and Chemistry labs at Katchery campus. In this regard inauguration ceremony was held which was attended by Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Kalsoom Paracha,Registrar Dr. Qammar Rubab Dr. Sara Musadiq faculty and staff members. On the occasion Project Director Asad Ali Butta brief that Government of Punjab has funded these development projects under ADP program titled “Construction of Buildings of WUM”. Sub- engineer Mr. Tahir briefly explain about the main features of different projects inaugurated in the university. Addressing the ceremony Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Uzma Quraishi said Women University Multan has made it essential that students ,faculty and staff of university consumed clean water that safeguarded their health profile. This latest filtration plant has the ability to remove all types of contaminants and improve quality of water. New Entrance gate and parking shed has been built in the light to maintain separate entry for the incoming and outgoing traffic. She was briefed about the security measures entry process and other allied arrangements to facilitate the staff and visitors.The construction of the parking area will facilitate the parking of vehicle. VC Dr. Uzma Quraishi said that provision of facilities, beautification and academic excellence of the university are the top priorities and university Management has leave no stone unturned in this regard. While inaugurating Dar-ul Quran centre VC Prof. Dr Uzma Quraishi said that Quran is a complete code of life. The teaching of the Quran is a compulsory part of syllabus to disseminate knowledge and discipline among young generation.While visiting old hall of university VC Prof Dr. Uzma Quraishi said that efforts has been made so that historical and cultural importance of this Hall would be preserved. Its renovation is completed now it would again be ultilised to host important events of university. While inaugurating chemistry labs for PhD and M.Phil scholars VC Prof Dr Uzma Quraishi congratulated the HoD, faculty members, and students of the Chemistry department and lauded the efforts and devotion of the HoD and faculty members, and extended full support in every aspect for the students and faculty of the university. She appreciated the contribution of Chemistry department during Covid-19 pandemic by preparing hand sanitizers and mostique repellent to serve community. She encouraged the students to make the best use of the facilities available in the University to utilize their talents.
Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Kalsoom Paracha said the main objective of Women University is to provide better opportunities for higher education to the students. Chairperson Department of Chemistry Dr. Sara Musadiq said that these labs are upgraded with state of art equipment and tools and is part of the efforts to bring WUM at par with the advanced research institutions globally.
